Photography Class and Vandalism

I'm in a photography class at UVU and I'm really enjoying it!
For one of our assignments I had to do a plrevisulaution photo.
David and drove up the canyon and then into Sundance.
While up in Sundance I really liked the birch trees and was taking some pictures of them but they were too plain. So I took a marker out of the car and wrote on one of them, with all the signs around that said no trespassing, and houses on the other side of the road. (Yes I know I vandalized, but the picture really turned out!) Since I was doing film I had noway of knowing if the picture actually turned out until I developed it. I think it turned out great!!!! I took a picture of the final print with my digital camera so I could share it with everyone.
This is a picture of the picture

Really Yummy Recipe

Here is one of our favorite recipes

This one really doesn't have a name but I guess you could call them Chicken Spinach Bruschetta?
Ingredients:
2 Large Chicken breasts
1 1/4 cup Italian Dressing
1 bag Spinach
1/4 cup Sun dried Tomatoes
Sourdough Bread

First take the chicken breast and marinate them for 2-3 hours in 1 cup Italian dressing.
Tear spinach into medium pieces place in bowl and add sun dried tomatoes
Then grill the chicken (I use a George Forman but if I had accesses to a real grill I would try that). When cooked all the way through cut into small bite size pieces and add to spinach.
Add 1/4 cup Italian dressing to salad and mix well.
Cut sourdough bread slices in half and brush each side with olive oil. Grill for a few seconds each side (this is where the George Forman comes in handy because it grills both sides at the same time).
To serve place the spinach chicken salad on the grilled bread.
Again this is really really good!

I hope you like it!

Night in the ER

Yesterday was an eventful day.
We of course knew that I was going to miscarry we just didn't know when.
When we were leaving school around 5 pm we noticed that I was bleeding...a lot
after an hour and no improvement we decided to go to the ER. My blood pressure dropped several times to 80's/40's and then once into the 70's. I was very light headed and a little nauseous but once they hooked me up to an IV i felt a lot better.
I was still bleeding pretty bad and I was kinda in pain so they gave me 8 units of morphine which was amazing!
They did deiced around 11, when I still hadn't stopped bleeding, that I should get a D and C (DNC?) So I went into surgery which I did really well in and recovered really quick. But we still couldn't go home till 3 am.
We are now home and I'm relaxing and taking it easy. I'm on all sorts of medications and my favorite is the Percocet!
So this has been a very fun and eventful week!

The Lord has other plans for us

It seems that the Lord has other plans for us.
I went to the doctors today because I was concerned about somethings and I found out that it was just not our time to have a baby.
It's really hard to face but I know that I am not alone, I have my wonderful caring husband who would do anything for me. Wonderful parents and in-laws who are so loving and caring. And whole ton of friends. I also know that Lord is always here with us and he understands every thing that we go through and he cares for each and everyone of us.
Like I said this is really hard but I also know that its not the end of the world.

I turned 23!

I know its a little late but Happy Birthday to me!

On November 5th I turned 23! On the 5th we went out to dinner with some friends and family and it was so much fun! I also love that I have both my brother and sister living up here so they could come too! We then had really yummy ice cream cake back at our place.

I of course had to watch "V for Vendetta" because a movie all about the 5th of November!

Since my birthday was kinda in the middle of the week and David wanted to give me a whole day of pampering we decided that we would do the real celebrating on Saturday.
On Saturday David took me to Remadez in the the University Mall and I got a 90min facial which was amazing and so relaxing!
We then went the the Provo Mall and saw "A Christmas Carol" which was really good and is now one of my favorite versions of that story (The Muppet Christmas Carol is still #1). I would however not take small children to go see this movie! It was quit scary. There was a poor little 4 year old girl sitting next to us and she was hiding most of the move in her mom and dads arms and then several other children were crying and had to leave!
But I really did love it!!!!
After leaving the movie ( and then going back to get my phone) we went to the Cheesecake Factory! I loved it! I ate my calamari and I got my Dr. Pepper! Since I have gotten pregnant I have avoided soda and caffeinated drinks and of course seafood. I did ask my doctor if I could have the calamari and he gave me the "OK". Oh it was all so good!!!
And of course the best part was the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cheese cake we split for dessert!

It was a very good birthday!!!

PS I have a new song on my playlist for Thanksgiving so turn on your sound!

Halloween 2009

We actually had a pretty lame Halloween! This was the first year that we didn't carve a pumpkin. We just had a lot of other stuff going on and then when we did have time it was like midnight.
And then our ward wasn't doing anything for Halloween. No trunk-o-treating or anything which I thought was kinda lame.
We had no other parties to go to either so we really didn't know what we were going to do.
We decided to just get dressed up anyways and go out to dinner anyways. We ended up going to Red Robin at the mall and everyone loved our costumes. We did have fun but next year we will have to find a good party.
My sister and her friends were going to be dead Ute fans that were attacked by the BYU cougar. They wanted me to do their makeup for them and this was the result.

9 Weeks

Today I am 9 weeks pregnant!
I am starting to get a small baby bump.
Nothing to exciting going on though I went to the doctor for the first time yesterday and they basically told me everything we already know.
My due date is June 3.
I am healthy and so is the baby.
I will have another appointment next month and thats when we will get to have a sonogram and here the heartbeat. So hopefully that one will be a little more exciting.

New York 2009

OK so I know it has been forever but I thought I would actually blog about our trip to New York. And I promise it will be short...
So we stayed in a hotel right in Time Square which was great! It was close to everything! The first night we just walked around and tried to take everything in.

The next morning we took a tour guide bus around New York. The very first bus we got on was quite entertaining. The tour guide was either drunk, high, or both!
But we got off at the next stop and then the rest of the day was a lot better.

We also got to see Wicked at the Gershwin Theater. HOLY CRAP! I loved it! I was so happy! I mean i was so happy that I actually had to try not to cry! It was amazing! I had been dying to go see it forever and then I got to go see it on Broadway! WOW! I was so excited

We went to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. That was awesome. We were able to go up into the base. It was a lot of fun.

The last night that we were there we even got to see a New York Yankees game in their new stadium. And of course they won.

We went to Central Park, Grand Central Terminal, we went to some amazing restaurants and tried some new things. Over all it was a blast and I'm so glad that we had the oppetunity to go. Thanks Dad and Teri!!!

The Adventures in Lava Hot Springs

This last weekend was Davids and mine 1 year anniversary. We wanted to get away and do something but still keep things cheap so we decided to go camping.
On Friday the 29th I was working before we left and a guy comes in with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and says they are for me! I was so excited! The
re was one rose which David said represented the one year we had been married.
After work and after packing up the car we were on the road going to Lava Hot Springs in Idaho. Lava Hot Springs is a very small little town south east of Pocatello.

I saw this van on the drive up and I told David that I wanted one just like it!
When we got there we set up our tent and started a fire going and started making S'mores and Doughboys. Doughboys, for those of you who don't know, are the best camping food ever!
This is how you make them: You need 1 can of biscuit dough. (I like to use cresant dough). Then you take one biscuit and wrap it around the end of a 1 in wooden dowel. Then you roast it over the fire. When its done you slide it off the end and fill it with jam, honey, butter etc. They are so good!

Heres the fun part:
(WARNING: Pictures of needles and IV's)

Saturday morning David woke up and said I think I got bitten by a bug and he was itchy all over. It wasn't a bug bite but hives. David was covered in hives. I told him we needed to get some Benadryl. And on the way to the store his throat started to close luckily we got to the store and he popped 4 pills and then it was off to Pocatello 30 miles away to get to the closest ER. The Benadryl stopped his throat from closing. They got him hooked up to an IV and gave him a steroid and epinephrine.
We figured he developed an allergy to Penicillin since he has been on 3 or 4 different kinds in the last month. After being at the hospital for a couple hours the hives disappeared and he was feeling better so we left to go back to camping.

So back to camping. Later that afternoon we finally went to the hot springs. They are all natural they just built pools around were the stream come in. And they are hot! It was so relaxing and it was pretty empty when we went so it was really peaceful.
So there rest of the time was just more camping and enjoying our Saturday.
Sunday the 31st was our actual anniversary. We packed up camp and decided to drive to Soda Springs. We heard that there was a spring that produced natural soda. We drove all through this little town and couldn't find it and then on the way out we saw a geyser that was going off down some back street. We find it and read the little sign. The whole thing was man made. The waster was natural but they put a cap on the stream so every couple of minutes it goes off. I found that kinda lame. Oh well
Later that night we opened up our cake topper we had on our wedding day and ate what we could. It was actually pretty good it was just really big.
I'm so happy that I was able to spend this last year with the best man I know. I feel so blessed and lucky to have such a great man in my life. I look forward to the many more years to come.

EDIT: Gifts: David wrote me a beautiful letter and I got him a subscription to his favorite magazine. (Your 1 year anniversary is supposed to be paper if you didn't know)

One Year Ago....

One year ago today I got married to the love of my life! David and I went to the Jordan River Temple and were married for Time and all Eternity. I'm so happy and so blessed to know that I get to be with the best man I have ever known. I love David so much and I'm excited for the many more years to come.

New Glasses

I have a new pair of glasses!
I've been having some weird stuff going on with one of my eyes and my contacts were starting to wig out. So after a couple of months of this I decide I should go have it checked out. Well according to the doctor I am now allergic to contacts and may never be able to wear them again.

LAME!

So after that news I needed to get new glasses seeing as my old ones were the wrong prescription. I went to LensCrafters and got me some new glasses.
I really wanted these red ones that were so cute but I might have these for the next 2 or 3 years so I went with something a little more subtle.

What do you think?

They are black with green trim. I think they are cute!

My New Job

I can't believe that I haven't blogged about my new job yet so here I go.

I got a fun new job at Banfield in Orem, its a pet hospital right inside Petsmart and I love it!

PROS:

- I get to play with all the cute animals that come in. Puppies are still my favorite
- I get to wear pajamas to work (they're scrubs and they are comfy)
- All the dog treats I could eat
- My pets gets free check ups
- I love the people I work with
- I'm working in the field of work that I want to make my carrier

CONS:

- Some of those "cute" pets are not so cute
- Some pets don't get to go home (It breaks my heart every time)
- There is a chance that I will have pee, poop or puke on me at some point during the day
- Some times owners can't afford to pay to take care of their pet and it really bugs me

I really do love my job! Its always so much fun and there is always some thing interesting going on. I'm always learning something new!

Needs a good home

Yesterday a 10 week old puppy came in with a shattered leg. The owners had no money and had a couple of options; take it home and do nothing, find the money for surgery ($1500-$2000), or euthanize. No one in the office could bare to euthanize this adorable puppy so we gave the owners one other option, relinquish ownership to the hospital.
They agreed to give up ownership and she can now get her surgery.
We only need to find her a good home now. We will keep her till she gets her surgery and to make sure her leg is healing. We only ask, if you can, that if you want her you pay a little to cover pain medication.
We have named her Buttercup and she is a caramel colored pit bull. Her ears have not been cropped so they are cute and floppy. She is really playful (even with her broken leg) she likes to cuddle and give kisses. We already started potty training her.
She is good with kids and other pets and would like to be with someone who can take time to train her and entertain a energetic puppy
Please if you or you know someone who would like her please contact me ASAP (510) 220-2696
I'll post more pics later tonight that aren't too blurry

I hate them all

Ok so maybe hate is a strong word. I really dislike the thousands and millions of screaming girls who are obsessed with . . . everything!

First I will say I loved the Twilight books, except the last one I feel it was a cop out but oh well. And yes I love Edward!!! (in the books)
The movie was a good laugh. Most of the entertainment came from the very funny comments some of the girls and women where making during the movie. For example when Carlisle walked in for the first time the women in front of us said "Oh my! I didn't know they made them like that!" I was laughing so hard!
And Robert Pattinson was good but he will forever be Cedric to me. My devotion to Harry Potter is stronger.

Ok so back to my main point. How can you enjoy anything if you are screaming at the top of your lungs! You can't hear anything and you probably can't see anything because most of you close your eyes to scream! What is the point! You can love the movie and the books but do it a little quieter! Let the rest of us keep our hearing and our sanity!

Proposal

One year ago today David got down on one knee and officially proposed to me!
So here's the story on how it all went down.

David and I knew that we were getting married we had already reserved the temple and called around to find a place to have the reception. I knew David had gone to pick out a ring. I wanted him to pick it and surprise me, but I had 2 requirements: It had to be silver (white gold, platinum, ect.) and it had to be princess cut (preferably on point). So like a couple days before March 22 I knew he had actually had the ring in his apartment. I was getting really excited.
On March 21st I called David from my break at work just to talk and stuff ( I know haw sappy but we love each other) and he asked me what I was doing the next day (a saturday) Right then I knew what he was going to do. I mean we spent every waking moment with each other and what else was I going to be doing on a Saturday?

So March 22nd I got all cute and waited for David to come pick me up. I really didn't know what he had planned except a nice lunch.
We went to lunch at Tucanno's(sp?). It was really good but I was nervous because I knew he had the ring and I didn't know when I was going to get it. After lunch we started to drive up the canyon and then I knew. He was going to propose and Bridal Vail Falls. I was really getting excited now!

We got there and had to walk a little ways to actually get there and thats when David started to get nervous. I mean we both new what the answer was but it was exciting! There was still snow in some places but it had mostly melted, but because of the snow that was left the pool at the bottom of the falls was just rocks and very little water.
There was no one around and david and I walked out onto the water and then he got down on one knee...
Holy Crap! I was so happy and excited and nervous all in one. And Honestly I really can't remember what he said but I know I said YES!!!
I was so happy! I cried of course! The ring was white gold with a princess on point diamond and 3 princess on point diamonds on each side. Beautiful!!!
I wanted some pictures and a lady and her family just happened to be walking by. When we asked to take maybe one or 2 pics she said (paraphrasing) No way you need more then that I'm a professional photographer and I'll take a few for you.
I thought that was really nice of her!
After that we went back home and called just about everyone we could think of to let them know that this was official and there was no turning back!!!

I'm so happy he gave me a beautiful ring and a promise that he wants to spend his life with me!
I love you David!!!

Harry Potter

I Love Harry Potter!!!
I have been in love with these books for oh so long.  David and I have been listening to them again on book on tape for the last month.  I love it! We just finished "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and I can't wait to start "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"!

I remember when I first saw the first book in stores. I just ideally walked by and w
as like what is this? Some crazy book about a wizard? (Little did I know how much I would love it) I bought it thinking I need a good read and why not!  The moment I opened the book I was in love.Ever since then I have been to every midnight selling of these books.

Loving Harry Potter was also a requirement when finding someone to marry.  When I first saw that David had the collection in his apartment I was like yep he is the one!

I also love the movies, not as much though as the books.  I will get dressed up in Hogwarts attire and attend the midnight showings. I have waited in line for a good seat for 4 hours or more (which I have done many times).  I only wish that they could be longer.

I love this magical world so much that I have now convinced David that when we build our home that we should build the Gryffindor commons room in our basement (well I didn't have to convince we more just agreed that we couldn't live without it)
I can't wait for "Half Blood Prince" to come out to theaters but when it does just know thats where I will be for the next few days!

Please do not let this happen!

..................................................................................................
EDIT:
Visit the LDS news room for a release from the church. http://www.newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/commentary/the-publicity-dilemma
..................................................................................................
Ok so you may have heard or you haven't, but HBO is planning on showing an episode of Big Love on Sunday March 15, 2009 that will show sacred temple ordinances of the LDS church. This is real. It is in the TVguide and can be found here, http://www.tvguidemagsales.com/WeeklyIssues/TVG030909.pdf, on page 48.
Now there have been people saying this is not real and  it is a fake site. Its not.

There is a picture which I am choosing not to post because of what it contains but it can be found in the face book group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=80399776872
It is a picture of someone actually holding the copy in question.
This is all I will post of the article in TVguide the picture has been removed.

Please complain to HBO and to the FCC to stop this from happening.
It's not secret it is sacred and should not be shown on TV that will take away from its sacredness.
Please don't let this happen!!!

My frustration with Watchmen the movie

When I first saw the preview for Watchmen I was really excited. I was hoping for a PG-13 rating but knew that something would make it R. I was ok with that to a point. I can stand fighting and a little bit of swearing. If there was going to be nudity it would most likely be brief and nothing to traumatizing, plus that stuff doesn't really phase me.
When it did get an R rating I wasn't surprised and thought I would see it when it came out on DVD or something like that so its easier to skip unwanted parts of the movie.
Well I found out the there is a full frontal of a man during the entire movie. Not cool!!! I don't care if he is computer animated put some pants on him! or at least blur it out like you have been doing with the previews!
I really want to go see this movie it does look really good but your nude man has completely turned me away from it.
Thanks alot

Killing time before class

Warning: Long Ramblings of Megan

I thought I would blog a little before going to class.
First let me start off with my last class that I just had. It was aerobics and today was 80's day. which meant that if you dressed up you get extra credit. But I of course am auditing the class so it doesn't matter but I can never pass up an opportunity to wear a cut up sweater and a side pony and dance like its 1986! It was so much fun! 80's music defiantly gets your heart pumping and makes you want to do the running man, sprinkler, the charlie brown and cowboy it up!

...........................................................................................................................................

On Tuesday was Mardi Gras. A holiday that goes often uncelebrated. I don't care if your Catholic or not it's a fun day!  David and I had a little get together at our house. We had Big Band music playing in the background and everyone got beads and masks. I also made a King Cake, the traditional Mardi Gras cake (Thanks PartyLand for the cake mix!), and some really good cupcakes.
To me Mardi Gras is just a good excuse to have friends over hang out and play games.
I have two goals with future Mardi Gras' though
1. I will make it to New Orleans
2. I will through a huge masquerade ball

My next holiday that will be a lot of fun is St. Patrick's Day. If you want to join me in the ritual of watching Boondocks Saints and eating corned beef and cabbage just let me know :)

....................................................................................................

Something else we did this last week was go to the Timpanogos (sp?)Temple.  I love this temple out of the ones I have been in (which only include St. George, Laie Hawaii and Jordan River) it is my favorite!
It was such a nice day.
I hope to soon add Oakland Temple to my list. I'll be going there in June for my friends wedding! (so excited for you Laurel!)
A goal I have for Temples is:
1. to visit all that are in UT
2. and to visit the temple in the area that we vacation if possible

.............

So thats all I have time for right now. Check back later though when I add pictures to this when I get to my home computer!

Flash Back Valentines

Happy Valentines Day!
I have to do a flash back to last year...
One year ago I met David! We had met in our ward and started talking and getting to know each other.  David decided he would ask me out on our first date. It happened to be on Valentines Day. I being a girl knew exactly what day it was.  We went and saw Emo Phillips at Wise Guys Comedy Club.  So I got all cute wore red and waited for David to come pick me up. I even made Valentines Day cupcakes.  We walked to the club got our seats and started to enjoy the show.  Well it wasn't until Emo came on stage and asked if everyone was enjoying their Valentines when David realized it was in fact Valentines Day. I think he got a little more nervous when he figured it out.
But as you can tell everything turned out great!!!

Now back to 2009!
We wanted to do something a little special seeing as this was the anniversary of our first date.  On the 13th we went out to dinner at the Melting Pot in Salt Lake (it was cheaper to go on the 13th instead of the 14th).  It was soooo good!!!!!

Then on Valentines Day we babysat Kaitlyn. We had a lot of fun! We made Valentines and hung them on the door.  After she left David and I had our nice romantic evening.  I made dinner which has been a tradition in my family forever! It was a heart shaped meatloaf with mashed potatoes around it to make "lace".
We ate by candle light and had love songs playing in the back (Josh Gracian!) and I made Strawberry Short Cake for dessert.
We then exchanged Valentines.
I gave David the game Killer Bunnies(best game ever!)

And David gave me Chocolate, a Teddy Bear, and Mama Mia.

We had a lot of fun celebrating 1 year of knowing each other!

Super Weekend

On Saturday David and I decide that we would throw a small Super Bowl party. I also wanted to make some homemade salsa. I made it Saturday night so that all the flavors could "blend together".  I used lots of tomatoes, 1 Onion, fresh Cilantro, 1 Lime, lots of Garlic, about 6-8 small Jalapenos, and 2 big red hot peppers. It was really really spicy but really really good.
Yesterday I made another type of dip for potato chips. Basically it was death but it was really really good.
I mixed sour cream, cream cheese, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, a little ranch, and garlic and onion powder. It was so good but I'm glad everyone else ate it so I didn't feel to guilty for eating a little. lol.
We put on the game and our friends started to come over. No one really cared for the game but most of us were rooting for the Steelers, David rooted for the Cardinals just to be different. During the half time show we played Pictionary Man (It's really fun).
Steelers won, yay!
After the game we played a game called Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot. This is my new favorite game! Its a crazy fun card game. And we all watched the Office.
So it was a good day and its always fun to have friends over. ( Everyone is welcome anytime)

Christmas 2008

This Christmas was so much fun and quite eventful.
First David and I left on the 19th to go to St. George so we could caravan with my mom to the Bay. When we got there we were able to see David's parents and spend one night with them (we thought we were going to miss them because they were going out of town).  On Sunday we went to my dad's concert with Q'ed Up.
It was a lot of fun and they were amazing! (love you dad).

Monday I was able to meet up with an old friend, Lauerl.  She was my best friend when I was living in Pleasanton.  She is getting married in June! I'm so excited for her.

On Tuesday I went into San Francisco with all the girls for Tea at the top of the Mark.  Its a tradition we do every year and its so much fun and I always enjoy it. We took B
.A.R.T in and then got to walk up Nob Hill. Well some us walked the others took a taxi. After the Tea we did a little shopping! (This is my favorite part of our tradition).
My sister and I got to stay longer because we were meeting my dad, Teri and David for dinner and then go to the Phantom of the Opera at the Orpheum. I love Phantom!!! It was amazing and wonderful and the best ever!

Christmas Eve was crazy like always.  We did the Nativity and David and I were Mary and Joseph. Then we opened our PJs and cousin gifts and went to bed so Santa could come and leave all the presents :)   ( I sadly was sick that night and then in the morning).
Christmas was a lot of fun and exciting.  Santa brought David and I a picture of the Nauvoo Temple. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon opening all our gifts and playing with our toys.  Later we went into my dad's and had another Christmas eve. On Friday we had Christmas at my Nana's.

On Saturday we all went bowling (another family tradition) and then we went out for pizza.
Sunday we drove back to St. George, but first we stop back at David's parents again. Monday we were home and even though we had a lot of fun we were glad to be home!
