3 Months

So today is our 3 month anniversary. Hey since were still in the "honeymoon" stage we can celebrate silly things like this. LOL.

So this weekend we did some fun things. On Friday we went to Comedy Sportz, which is sorta like a "Who's Line" kinda thing.  It was really good and really funny. We then went next door to a gelato ice cream parlor, and got really good crepes with gelato. That was really good! (Kinda on a side note but some times David and I will go on walks and we stop at the gelato parlor and split a scoop. Its a fun thing to do on these summer nights)

Anyways. Yesterday we went to Park City and road on the Alpine Slide. I forgot how much fun that was. Also they have a new "ride" called the Alpine Coaster. Its kinda like the slide where you can control your speed but there is no way you can fall off the track and you have a seatbelt. This one was really fun. You really get some speed going on that!
Today was fast sunday in our ward because we have stake conference next weekend.  But I of course forgot this and baked cookies to bring to our first lesson.  I didn't want to tempt anyone so we just left the cookies in the car and have been giving them out to who knocks on our door. (We still have about 2 dozen left). But I think our lesson went well without them.
I made a "romantic" dinner tonight for our mini anniversary. Fetticni Alfrado and Garlic bread, we even opened a bottle of Sparkling cider.

Well thats it for tonight. I am looking forward for tomorrow because we can actually sleep in.
Good Night

First Day Of School

So today was the first day of school for me at UVU.  Since David is a full time employee there I get free tuition. My classes are on Tuesday's and Thursday's.

First class of the day is English 1010. My teacher is very up beat but there are a lot of "rules" (for a college class at least). We have to write 5 papers this semester.  I really don't think this class will be that hard (seeing as I took half of it already at Dixie State) I just have to make sure I go to class.

My second class is Biology 1010. The professor for this class is your typical science teacher: dry humor, glasses outdated jacket... but he seems fun.  In this class you don't have to show up but thats not really smart seeing has there is so much you can learn from actually being in class.  He also posts all his lectures online so this class shouldn't be that hard.

Third class is Acting 1.  This class is going to be a lot of fun. I just acting in general. My teacher is very enthusiastic.  I have to do 2 scenes and then 2 monologues. I also have to attend 4 plays.  Oh and just on a side note auditions for the school plays and musical are next Wednesday.

And my last class is Palliates. This one is going to be fun and relaxing. My teacher kinda thinks that everything is wonderful all the time but she seems fun.

One fun thing is that David's office is nice and quite so I can sit in there and do homework when I have time. And we can carpool together so we are saving on gas, which means I can buy books. Books only cost me $200. blah.
So thats about it for the first day of school.

Temple Attendance

This is the talk I gave on Sunday.

"Joseph Smith had long been concerned about the fate of his older brother Alvin who died before the Church was organized and baptisms performed.  He had even seen Alvin in a vision waiting for the ordinance of baptism. Jesus had taught 'except a man be born of water and of the spirit he can not  enter the Kingdom of Heaven'. Joseph was baptized.  Even Jesus was baptized.  What was to become of Alvin?
The solution was announced by Joseph smith on August 15th 1840 at a funeral.  This discourse initiated ordinances for the dead.
The first Baptisms fro the dead were done within weeks after Joseph's discourse. Although Baptisms were to be performed in a temple, they were performed at first mostly in the Mississippi River" (A brief History of the Establishment of Temple Ordinances for the Dead)

As youth we had the opportunity to attend the temple to do baptisms for the dead. This prepares is to go to the temple to preform ordinances for ourselves.

The first time we go for ourselves is to receive our own endowments.
Brigham Young said: "Your endowment is to receive all those ordinances in the House of the Lord , Which are necessary for you after you have departed this life , to enable you to  walk back to the presence of our Father passing the angels who stand as sentinels being enabled to give them the key words, the signs, and tokens pertaining to the Holy Priesthood and gain your eternal exaltation in spite of earth and hell."

So once we have our own endowments why do we keep going?
We go so we can do the work for the dead.

There are also other reasons people go to the temple. They go to pray, to feel the spirt or just to get away from the world and feel the peace the temple has to offer.

I am so grateful that I live in an area were I can attend the temple often. David and I have made it a goal in our home to attend the temple twice a month.

Talks & New Callings

So last sunday before church I told David that if we are asked to speak just lie and tell them we are going to be out of town. Of course i was joking. So in sunday school the guy sitting in front of us turned around and asked us if we were going to be in town next week because he wants us to speak. For a second i toyed with the idea that maybe I should go down to St. George to see if Jessica needed any help with the wedding, but then they would hunt us down and ask us to talk when we have run out of excuses. So we are talking tomorrow in church. Luckily they have 2 couples talk so instead of 15 min talks each we have 15 min all together, so its not that bad.  i have to, I mean I get to, talk about temples and David gets to talk about family history.  Well I guess its good that we were planning to go to the temple today.

Also this morning a guy from the ward came by to extend both of us a calling. Now i know this sound strange but I was praying that I would get a calling to work in the nursery or maybe do something with the music (our ward needs help in that department) , but of course not we both got the calling to be Gospel Doctrine teachers (as a couple). So i guess when its our week to teach we will be making calls to Grandpa for ideas.

Mrs. David Andrus

So its official I am now Megan E. Andrus!  I got my name changed. Its  kinda weird honestly. I mean I have always been Megan Edmunds. But I do like it. It makes things feel complete.

Kinda random but we have been looking for a wii fit forever and everywhere we look they have been sold out. Last night I said I wanted to get the game Mario Party for the Wii so we can play together (we only had 2 other games that were 2 player) so we went to Gamestop to get our game. While we were there we noticed that behind the counter there was a Wii Fit. We bought it of course! Its so much fun and you really do get a good work out from it too!

Best Friend

So my best friend Jessica is getting married! I'm so excited!!! I do find it kinda funny because at my wedding in May she was saying she wasn't going to get married till next February or next Spring and now she is getting married November 15th LOL. I find it quit entertaining!
So her soon to be husband is half Hawaiian and so they are going for a tropical theme and instead of a luncheon they are having a Luau.  I think it will be awesome!
Oh and I'm in her party (She's having me and her sister be bridesmaid) And I'm one of her closer friends and I told her that she could call me day or night and I would help her with anything she needed. So I got  a call the on Wednesday asking me to come and help her pick out her wedding dress on Thursday. Well I live in Provo and she is down in St. George. I said I would be there.  So yesterday morning I got in the car and drove all the way down to St. George, picked out the dress, saw my family and then drove back home. Yep I drove 7hrs to help out a friend! It was fun though. And if she needs anything else I will go down and help her again (I just hope its on a weekend this time)

Life

YAY!!! David got the job!
This is really great news for many reasons.  He will be making enough that I don't have to work which means I can go back to school!  And to make things even better since He works for UVU I get free tuition!
So I'm excited to start classes on Aug 27th
